Bulkley River Steelhead Fishing

The Bulkley River has long been regarded as one of the premier Steelhead fly fishing rivers in the world. The Bulkley is a tributary of the world famous Skeena river, home to the largest run of wild Steelhead in the world. The Bulkley offers close to 100 miles of perfect fly water ranging from shallow gravel bars to glassy tail outs in ledge rock canyon pools. Long regarded for its dry fly fishing the Bulkley is home to some of the most aggressive Steelhead on the planet. The Bulkley fishes from late August right through November with September and October being regarded as prime time.

We have a long connection with the Bulkley as most of our guides have either guided at the following operations or spent seasons living on the rivers bank it was the first river we booked destination anglers on.

Whistler Flyfishing is fortunate to be able to offer a wide variety of Bulkley experiences ranging from canyon camp outs to five star dinning and riverside cabins. Let our staff of experts put their experience to work providing you with the ideal Bulkley River fishing experience.

Here are the folks we work with:

Bulkley River Lodge

There is something special about the Bulkley River Lodge. It might be the cozy lodge living room or dining area. Chef Sarah's friendly smile or Whitey's after dinner entertainment, Melissa’s friendly smile or Bunky's jokes. I think it is the feeling of family you get when you stay at the lodge and the knowledge that you are spending your day with some of the fishiest folk around. Guides fish the full length of the Bulkley mixing in jet boat time with relaxing river drifts.
