Michael is the friendly and helpful shop guy with the tremendous talent for constructing great flies. Check out his famous Mikey Prawn and buggy Intruder variations – the kids got talent at the vice. He shares this talent teaching our beginner and advanced fly tying lessons at the fly shop. Mike is also a well respected Salmon guide and has spent the past three summers guiding out of Naden Harbour in the Queen Charlotte Islands. However, it is speyfishing for winter Steelhead that is Mike’s obsession and when winter storms turn to rain he can most often be found leading dawn patrol on the Cheakamus river. Mike grew up in Squamish and knows where to find winter chrome. He also knows a thing or two about the local sea run Cutthroat Trout fishing, good luck getting that out of him though..
