FLYFISHING REPORT – February 6, 2012
BIRKENHEAD RIVER: Low and cold, the few Rainbows and Bulls around can be taken on small nymph flies.
SQUAMISH RIVER: Nice warm weather has made for pretty good fishing for Bull Trout(Char) and Rainbows throughout the entire river. A few reports of early Steelhead hooked by anglers swinging sculpin imitations in the lower river.
MAMQUAM RIVER: Some good Bull trout fishing this week near the river mouth.
CHEAKAMUS RIVER LOWER: Lots of nice Bull Trout(Char) and Rainbows being caught on sculpin imitations. In fact some really nice Rainbows fooling people into thinking they had 5-7 pound Steelhead on. Speaking of Steelhead there have been a few around but expect the first good push of fish in the next week with some rain in the forcast.
LILLOOET RIVER UPPER: The odd trout can be taken on rolled muddlers and egg patterns.
